For a year now, I have been in college. It has been a crazy transition, but now I really enjoy living on my own and going to school. I’ve made some great friends, and I even enjoy my classes. The only problem I have with my school is the fact that the air conditioners are always broken in several of the classrooms. It seems that the maintenance staff has a hard time staying on top of the issue because there are so many separate HVAC units on campus. This is a major problem because it is hard to focus and pay attention to a lecture when a room is either too hot or too cold. I know that I am not the only person who’s complained about this. I have heard my teachers and fellow classmates complain about the HVAC systems breaking too frequently. I am seriously considering writing a letter to my university’s administrative team to see if they would consider budgeting more money to address this issue. I pay a lot of money in tuition and fees, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable for me to want a climate controlled space to get my work done in. People really should put more thought and effort into these issues when planning because they can make her break someone’s experience. An A/C is no longer a luxury. Instead, it is a necessity. Students have to have a comfortable space so that they are able to pay attention and perform well. College is a very important time in people’s lives, and if they are expected to take it seriously, they need a good space to learning.
