This is my second year in my new home, I moved in at the end of last summer. When winter hit I was unprepared for how unevenly my house would stay heated. The bedrooms were all frigid as can be, one bathroom was overly hot while the other bathroom was cold. Half of the living room was comfortable and warm while the other half was cold and drafty. During our multiple winter storms last year I was forced to crank up the heat over and over again just to make my house somewhat comfortable, but with that came a very high utility bill. This year with winter rapidly approaching I decided to have my HVAC technician come out to the house and service my heating system to make sure everything was in working order. The technician told me that my heating system was in great working condition he couldn’t find any problems, other then I needed a new filter which he was kind enough to change for me without being asked. When I described to him all the problems I had had last winter with my house heating unevenly he asked me if I had ever thought about upgrading to a smart thermostat. I told him I wasn’t sure what one was, so he took the time to sit down with me and to go over everything about it with me. He explained that the thermostat would connect to my homes wifi and I could control the settings right from my phone. Not only that but I could also control what rooms I was heating when so I wouldn’t have to pay to heat rooms that no one was using at that time! I was instantly interested in upgrading my system, I loved the idea of being able to control where my heat was going and that I wouldn’t have to pay to heat unused rooms. I set up an appointment time with him for the following week to have my heating system upgraded. I can not wait for my new heating system!
